We are officially 21 days short from scrambling for Thanksgiving dinner--albeit with a thankful heart--and already glowing with excitement from bringing out everything and anything related to Christmas.  OH, YES. We love Christmas. We love Winter.  Celebrating something so glorious atones for all the disappointments and sorrows the past year. We essentially plan a feast in preparation for a king's reign.  "Good eats with good company," as we would say.  Childhood memories of delectable food sitting on fine china from England and boisterous laughter ringing from every corner will forever remain embedded in my mind.

Monday Musings: Beginnings

A new week has begun, yet again.  Can you believe that we'll say good-bye to 2013 in less than 2 months?  I am in utter disbelief.  This talk about ephemeral time reinforces our relatively short-lived life on Earth.  Let us learn to embrace the unknown and hope for the best when new beginnings come!

2. Chestnuts: Roasted or boiled, chestnuts taste heavenly either way.  The sweet, nutty scent of chestnuts makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.  I love more than anything, though, are chestnuts in stuffing... 'tis the season for Christmas carols and delicious seasonal food.

Friday Fashion: It's a Liz Lemon Kind of Day

It's a Liz Lemon kind of Friday--the kind when you simply want to settle down and relax.  Does anyone remember the episode with Tracy's ruining Liz's dream vacation?  Her resort-esque outfit inspired me to create my version of a "Liz Lemon Resort" fashion.

The night would not be complete without a glass of sparkling juice/cider or moscato wine and charcuterie board. My favorite pairing would be the fig jam and brie cheese on brioche toast; a few thin slices of proscuitto add the needed extra punch with its savoriness.
