As a kid, I loved rubbing my face against my dad's shaven chin or embracing my mom after an active afternoon of running around. The scent of my dad's Giorgio Armani aftershave and mom's changing signature perfume tickled my fancy; for a while, she was redolent of Chanel's N5. My mom always believed that a woman's scent should be as classy as her clothes; naturally, she did not approve of my teenage obsession with Bath and Body Works. Over time, in college, I came to acquire more of her taste in both fashion and fragrance selection. My signature scent slowly transitioned from Trésor in Love (pear, peach, turkish rose, jasmine) to Jo Malone's Nectarine Blossom. These days, I love mixing Jo Malone's sweeter fragrances with Fresh's Pear, Lychee, or Grapefruit perfume. The lasting scent depends on one's body temperature so what works for me may not work for everyone.
With summer in full effect, I want to make sure I leave a refreshing, light, memorable as well as lingering scent wherever I go and whomever I meet. And that is why I love experimenting with perfume--you're able to create your own, unique scent.
